FAQs
What made you want to partner with NutriDyn for your nutritional supplements?
I wanted to partner with NutriDyn for a couple of reasons. One, their product quality had to be spot on. Their dedication to providing what it says on the label is second to none.
Second, the variety of products that they have is wonderful. I was especially intrigued by the lab tests that they offer. This coinsides with my committment that preventative health ultimately comes back to each of us as individuals. Nutridyn offers a number of supplement tests to see if a client is lacking a vitamin/mineral, or if once a client is taking that vitamin, the test will also show if the client is achieving their goal of receiving an optimal amount.
Do you have certain products you would recommend to all of your clients?
Yes, there are certain products I would definitely recommend to all of my clients. One is Vitamin D with K2 during the Winter months or if you get outdoors rarely. Taking vitamin D with K2 is better for vitamin D absorption.
Another supplement is creatine powder or their Performance Drink, which also contains creatine with an assortment of essential amino acids to aid recovery - take it post-workout. The research has been quietly gathering about the many benefits of creatine for overall health - it is not just for strength athletes anymore.
What is your view on supplements? Do you need them?
I look at supplements as the word suggests: "supplement your diet". This suggests that you may be lacking a certain vitamin or mineral and the supplement is filling in what is missing. This may be true, but that further suggests that we have to address what you are eating at each meal. We can do the detective work of knowing if the supplement is actually lacking in the diet or there may be an absorption issue. Once we get the food correct, then perhaps there may be no need to supplement.
However, one supplement that seems to be applicable for all ages of all backgrounds is creatine monohydrate. A great article to read is the International Society of Sports Nutrition position statement on creatine and exercise, and the entire article is summarized in the article's intial nine points. I do not insist that all clients take creatine, but to answer the question fully, I would not say I have a harsh "yes" or "no" approach to all supplements, and not all supplements should not be catagorized as having the same effects on us.
